Cutting machines, torches, hammers and bricks can be weapons used to cause severe destruction. Well, these are the weapons that four children from an area in North West plan on using in the fight against the novel coronavirus, that’s only if they could get their target right. The children in the video recording include 6-year-old Pieter Ernst, 8-year-old Mine Ernst and their friends 8-year-old Teko Mokgothu, along with 10-year-old Katlego Dladla.
The children were speaking about how they would take care of the virus after mother Rika Ernst told them the dangerous outcomes of the virus. They were also asked what they would do if they were in the same positions as South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, thus they came up with a plan to make the virus go away. They spoke about their plans in Setswana and Afrikaans. Pieter came up with the idea that they should attack it at night. Pieter and Mine Ernst have thus also debated about what the colour of the virus is.
Mine also told her friends that they will kill the virus. She then said that they will take a torch and when it gets on their skin they will kill it and tell the virus that they will kill it. Pieter Ernst also says they will use hammers to kill. They all portray and agree with each other on how they will kill it. However, Katlego Dladla, asked what will happen if the virus explodes all over the place. Mine thus said that they will use a cutting machine to cut it into pieces. In the end Mine Ernst recalls what they would be doing to catch the virus. She stated that they would look for the virus with their torches, catch it, then put it in a plastic bag. She couldn’t finish because her brother, Pieter, disturbed her.
