Watch! Educator Uses Dance To Teach Learners Mathematics. Mathematics is one of the most hated subjects for students because of how difficult it is to grasp.
Mathematics is one of the most hated subjects for students because of how difficult it is to grasp. However, for Kurt Minaar’s students mathematics might be their favourite class. The educator is a supposed ‘math dancer’. He states that dance is a language that everybody understands.
So he uses his moves to teach his learners mathematics. Video recordings that he shared on his social media account have made rounds on the internet. In one of the videos he can be seen doing the ‘mathdance’ in his classroom. He also motivates the students to get involved in the dancing too, with music. He told ‘parent24’ that music and dance is what is needed in classrooms.
“Music and Dance is social, collaborative and fun and that’s exactly what we need in our classrooms,” says Kurt Minaar. In a video of one lesson, he used dance to get the attention of the pupils so that he could bring in the ‘mathdance’ topic of the day. One tweep says, “Wow I love this, very creative. Well done.”
Dance is a universal language that we all can relate to. In this lesson, I used dance as my hook to grab the learners attention and to introduce the mathdance topic of the day #wholenumbers #mathdance #hiphoped @DonICT9 @GTI_educators @Parent24 @Trevornoah @WCEDnews pic.twitter.com/aKPVXpSia7
