A video recording of a 26-year-old man educator made rounds on the internet. The Mpumalanga educator was seen in the video watching over grade 11 students. However, the weirdest and most scary thing was that he had a gun in the exam room. The Department of Education in Mpumalanga acknowledged the incident today (Friday).
The Mpumalanga educator is looking at probable charges against him. The Department of Education advised the school to open a criminal file against the 26-year-old man. According to TimesLive, the event happened this week Monday (4 June) when learners were busy with their tourism paper.
“The department views this in serious light and has already instituted and investigation to understand that circumstances that lead to this conduct,” says the Department of Education. The department also states that it will look at schools with a very close eye. It says they will not tolerate these types o f behaviours.
The department says the people “involved in the upbringing and moulding of children should always ensure that they set high moral standards.” They also ask that the people involved in schools should hold high the torch of teaching and rat out people who are looking down on the profession.
