Watch! Police Raid Home That Has Weed Lab And Weapon Storage Near Pretoria. The Gauteng police raided a home in Wierdapark close to Pretoria.
The Gauteng police raided a home in Wierdapark close to Pretoria. They found a storage of weapons and a weed laboratory in the home. Home Affairs minister and acting police minister Aaron Motsoaledi, the Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko and thenational police commissioner General Khehla Sithole went to the house on Wednesday.
Aaron Motsoaledi says the 50-year-old man living in the place has been apprehended after the ambush on Tuesday. Officials from the Soshanguve and Pretoria K9 unit went to the home after they got a tip-off from a person who used to buy drugs from the home. The officers found a weed lab that was working below optimal production conditions, according to the Home Affairs Minister. The officers discovered hidden rooms in the house that had numerous guns, which involve rocket launchers, AK47s and R1 rifles.
Aaron Motsoaledi says the man said that he is an arms dealer and collects; however, the examinations have proved otherwise. He says some of the weapons should have been deactivated if they were collectors’ items but they were not deactivated. “It is worrying us, because this man can start a mini war if he wishes. Why do you keep launchers that can shoot helicopters? That is for war. If you are a collector, the arms must be deactivated, but officers found active arms here,” says Aaron Motsoaledi. The man’s license has been suspended and the licence for his weapons would be taken away if he is found to be guilty.
