Watch! Students React Their NSFAS Funds Coming Through. Some students that are under the National Financial Aid Scheme have recently had their funds put into their accounts.
Some students that are under the National Financial Aid Scheme have recently had their funds put into their accounts. As we have seen on other reports, this has resulted in some students struggling with food and their other academic resources. So how do students react when their funds come through?
A video recording that has been making rounds on social media portrays the reaction that students have once their funds go through. In the video recording, students can be seen cheering at a student accommodation. The students cheer on with some of them letting each other know that their funds came through. In another video recording, students in a passage way can be seen singing along to a song. Some of the students can be seen doing the famous “make it rain” gesture. Some tweeps were amused by the reaction of the students cheering for their funds.
One tweep says, “nsfas is the whole mood.” One tweep says the student financial aid brings unity. The tweep says, “The happiness and togetherness NSFAS brings, I don’t even think they understand it…Glorious to watch.” One tweep says, “Imagine getting all excited and losing your sleep because of R1440 [from] Nsfas “ingenile”…” The tweep says he was trying to make point that people are poor to the point where the money that was given to them by NSFAS makes them happy, which seems wrong to the tweep.”
