Perjury is a serious punishable offence and anyone who commits perjury will face prosecution.
A 43-year-old woman was arrested and detained on 04 April 2022 in Atlantis SAPS for a false rape allegation.
On 12 March 2022, the accused opened a case of rape against her boyfriend at Milnerton police station. She later withdrew the case and she was referred to court where she confessed to lying about the incident.
The suspect will appear before the Atlantis Magistrate’s court today.
