Woman Asks For Advice Regarding Her Date Who Doesn’t Want To Pay Half For Her R600 Uber Trip. A woman went on to Twitter to seek for advice from fellow tweeps.
A woman went on to Twitter to seek for advice from fellow tweeps. The woman wanted advice on whether to go on a date with someone who will cost her a lot with an Uber. The woman asked the guy to at least contribute half of the money to go see him but the man denied.
“…This man asked me out on a date neh, it’s gonna cost me around R300 to get there via Uber, and R300 to come back. That’s R600. I said andizi unless he’s paying for 1 trip at least. He lost his s**t…,” says the tweep. The user says the men spoke about him paying for the date as if he wasn’t the one who asked her out. Black twitter reacted to the expensive Uber ride that the man doesn’t want to pay for. One tweep says, “I repeat. Stay in your lane. If you can’t afford to pay 600 Uber or pick up and drop off a hun then date someone who doesn’t mind…a taxi [paying R30]…”
One tweep says, “The Uber thing is about levels, for some people 600 is a good fraction of salary, probably monthly grocery budget, yet for some that could be money for money for breakfast or snack. So the 2 types of people may not have a meaningful conversation.” One tweep says, “To be honest it’s not even about the money, it’s the principle. You can’t ask me out and want to inconvenience me. You can’t afford a R600 Uber or picking me up choose a place closer to me so that Uber can be R50. Please use your brains.” One tweep says, “I think it’s wrong to insist on a relationship you won’t be able to sustain…money wise…Beyond that 600 Uber, things were going to be unsustainable. I’d cut things off.”
