A girl rescued her friend from being hurt by a crocodile in Zimbabwe. The young girl, Rebecca Munkombwe, leaped on to the crocodile’s back, hollowing out its eyes till it let go of the friend. The girl who was saved, Latoya Muwani, was reportedly gripped by the crocodile when she was swimming with her friends at a stream.
When Rebecca was about to get out of the water she heard her 9-year-old friend scream for help. When she saw her friend being dragged under the water and having a hard time staying above water, she went in the water. The friend, Latoya Muwani, was by herself at the neck-deep zone telling them that something was biting her hand. She was the only one that was able to help her as she was the oldest.
“We had just left the water when we heard Latoya who was left alone swimming near the neck-deep zone screaming that something was biting her hand. Since I was the eldest among the other seven children, I felt the urge to save her. So, I jumped into the water and swam to where she was struggling to float. She was screaming in pain that something was biting and pulling her under,” says Rebecca Munkombwe. The 11-year-old saw that the crocodile was gripping onto her friend’s leg and hand.
